ABOUT

Ms. Rhoades has a respected reputation in the industry for her creative approach to creating cultures around fun and for blending cultures in merger situations. During her tenure with Doubletree Hotels, later Promus Hotel Corporation, she built a service culture focused on delivering outstanding service to Guests. During the time Ms. Rhoades headed the People Department at Southwest Airlines, she solidified Southwest's reputation of retaining and hiring the best people in the airline business despite Southwest's rapid growth during that time. Most recently, Ms. Rhoades took responsibility for the creation of JetBlue Airways Corporation's People Team in New York.

In her role as head of Human Resources, Ms. Rhoades has been a key member of the executive team, and is extremely successful in her role as internal counsel to executives in every discipline in the organization.

Ms. Rhoades is a popular speaker on the subject of customer service and how to build a strong service culture. She has great passion for certain industries such as healthcare where she is making a great contribution to revitalizing the workforce and culture of our nation's hospitals. She serves on patient safety and quality task forces with the Texas Medical Institute of Technology involved in setting metrics used in pay-for-performance programs across the country such as the Leapfrog Group. She is co-founder and CEO of CareLeaders Corporation a company dedicated to help US hospitals attain a new level of performance. Her community involvement currently includes Director on the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Board, and former University of New Mexico Robert O. Anderson School of Business National Advisory Board, Board of Director, Accion New Mexico and Albuquerque Community Foundation. Ms. Rhoades currently serves on Jet-Blue Airways Corporation, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, HireVue, Inc., and as chairwoman for Safer New Mexico Now. Ms. Rhoades has an MBA in Management from the University of New Mexico.

Ms. Rhoades' book “Built on Values” was released in January 2011.

Heather graduated in May 2012 from UNM with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is now pursuing a Master’s in Counseling. Heather is excited to be able to work with current Lobos and alumni in their career development.

ABOUT

Dr. Bova holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of New Mexico, an M.S. degree in Educational Research from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkhill, New York. She has carried out research with various populations in the areas of mentoring and generations in the workplace.

Some of her publications include Workplace Learning and Generation X, Mentoring Revisited: The African-Woman’s Experience, and Closing the Gap: The Mentoring of Generation X.

She has received the 2011 Distinguished Public Service Award from the State of New Mexico, 2006 Spirit of Achievement Award, Student Services Award-University of New Mexico, 2003, the Zia Award-Outstanding Alumnae from University of New Mexico, 2002, a Distinguished Woman of the Year Award for the State of New Mexico, New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women, 1997, and Woman on the Move Award-YMCA, in the category Educational Administration, 1997. She is a graduate of Leadership New Mexico, class of 1998.

Dr. Bova has also been very active in community organizations. She has chaired the Board of Directors for the United Way of Central New Mexico and is currently serving as Chair of the Board of KNME and is a board member of the Albuquerque Institute of Mathematics and Science @ UNM.

Dr. Bova holds academic rank in the Department of Educational Leadership and Organizational Learning. She currently serves as the Faculty Representative to the NCAA and is responsible for the certification of all of the student athletes at the University of New Mexico.

In addition to being an experienced, Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization and founder/owner of Anderson Organizing Systems (AOS), Kit Anderson is a published author, an accomplished public speaker, and an instructor for seven colleges in four states. An internationally recognized authority, she has been quoted in the Wall St. Journal and interviewed by journalists in the UK, Canada and Australia.

She is also a former elected official, a chronic volunteer, a wife of more than 45 years, the mother of two grown children, a degreed zoologist and a former research scientist.

Kit is the author of the book, The Faster I Work the Behinder I Get: Organizing Wisdom for Survival in a Frenzied World and the booklet, Double Strength Organizing: 101 Tips for Both Office and Home. She has also written professional papers, is a columnist for New Mexico’s metropolitan magazine, Around 505, and co-authored File Anything in Your Home, And Find It Again!

ABOUT

Dianne Anderson joined the University of New Mexico as the Director of Communication this summer after 30 years of working as a broadcast news journalist. Much of that time was spent here in Albuquerque, where she anchored newscasts at KRQE-TV and KOAT-TV.

While at Channel 7, she spearheaded the station’s community outreach program “New Mexico Children First,” which won a national broadcasting award for service to children. She also hosted live coverage of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for more than 15 years.

Since moving to Albuquerque in 1989, she has been involved in numerous community projects and often serves as a speaker or emcee for luncheons, banquets, walkathons and other events.

In her new position at UNM, she focuses on media relations by helping reporters get information for stories and letting them know about the important and interesting things happening on campus. She is married to Mark Mathis, a documentary film producer and media trainer. They have two children, a son who is on a track scholarship at Utah State and a daughter who is a freshman in the Honors College at UNM and a Lobo cheerleader on the all-girls squad.
